Very clean, honest, highly maintained, 1986 Mercedes 560 SEC. Complete service history since new. Original owner in Santa Barbara, CA happened to be William Conrad (of “ Jake and the Fat Man†TV Fame). Second owner was a retired attorney in Pasadena, CA. Second owner noticed a slight oil leak from one of the head gaskets and had the heads pulled of the car at about 125K miles and as part of that service had the heads rebuilt while they were off. (These engines easily see 250-300K miles before needing a valve job but the owner felt like having it done since the heads had to be pulled to fix the leak). Car was bought by the third owner and brought to UT in 2012 and used as a daily driver. All of the recent maintenance was performed in order to bring the car current not due to any failure or accident. All power equipment works and Automatic A/C blows cold. This car has been rock solid and has never left me stranded. In 1986, this was the pinnacle luxury coupe from Mercedes-Benz and remains a high style and comfortable cruiser today. Over 10K in recent maintenance and service include, new front lower ball joints, left and right track rods, coil springs, front Bilstein Shock Absorbers, rear Sachs self-leveling Shock Absorbers, Fuel Pump Check Valve, Valve Cover Gaskets, new front grille (original chrome was peeling), Full Synthetic Oil Changes, AMG Aero Wheels, Blaupunkt Head Unit w/ iPod and Bluetooth funtionality.
